Now that I’ve been doing the artists alley thing at conventions for a while, I decided it was time to start sharing some of the knowledge that I have acquired over the past few years. While I don’t claim to be an expert, I think that I have enough experience under my belt to get someone else started in caracter generated art. So, I’ll be doing a panel on this subject at Anime USA which will be in less than two weeks.

Since I won’t have a lot of time to get into a lot of specifics, I plan on giving people a lot of information on where they can go to get free software (legally) and what they’ll need to do so that they can start creating something simple. While there is a ton of information on the internet on how to do this sort of thing, a lot of it is geared to people who already have some knowledge on the 3D software that’s out there. With the panel I’m doing, I hope to filter out some of the more advanced material so that someone can hit the ground running. Let’s face it, there’s just no way someone can sit down in front of a program like Blender and get immediate results. Sure, you’re not going to learn a new skill over night but it’s nice to start out with something that’s a little bit easier to grasp.
